A collection of quirky, adorable pieces for beginning pianists.
“Watson the Dachshund” is a real animal who lives in Katy, Texas with her adopted human who happens to be a piano teacher. Watson’s crazy antics have inspired some unique, funny, and very accessible pieces for first and second-year pianists.
Included in this resource are links to PDFs of the sheet music that you can use in your studio for the students that you personally teach.
Also included are links to Google Slides that give helpful teaching tips, and are useful to highlight certain measures for students. Use these motivating slides either before, during, or after the lesson.
Beginning students are a passion for Kay Lowry. Starting a young student’s fingers and mind with the right sort of music is important. In composing these pieces, Kay worked to make them as simple and as fun as possible.
