Valentine's Day Digital Escape Room Game Bundle
Valentine's Day Digital Escape Room Game Bundle
It’s time FUR a little fun with some cute FUR babies to help memorize staff pitches using five landmark Cs and A-C-E guide notes.
The inspiration for this group of three digital escape room games made just FUR you (!) started with a need for a new game for the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
The games encourage students to use clever pitch recognition strategies to improve their reading skills. The irresistible cuddly FUR babies bring in the fun.
The goal: memorize staff notes using Landmark Cs and A-C-E guide notes.
The landmark Cs come from Leila’s Grand Staff Map found here. You can listen to her describe how she uses the map in Key Ideas Podcast episode #40 here.
Both Marie and Leila also use the ACE strategy to reinforce pitch recognition.
Marie feels like this approach works even better for many of her students instead of the F and G guide notes.
“We start by learning the 5 Cs on the staff (deep blue C, cow C, middle C, face C, cloud C.) Then we add A and E to each C for our ACE groups. Once they learn the notes of each ACE group, then they only need to step up or down from any ACE and they'll know the note. (Coming in the next set of escape room games!) The fun thing is that we can customize those ACE group notes in the Note Quest or NoteRush apps and just focus on one or two groups to play the game to reinforce during class.
Yes, it's PAW-sible to memorize all the notes on the staff using the A-C-E groups!”

What is a DIGITAL Escape Room?
Students work as teams or individually to solve puzzles and answer questions to a story based on intriguing themes. Their correct answers are the numbers or letters to crack the code which allows them to “escape” the room and move on to another room for more mysteries to solve and codes to unlock. If you like, set a time limit to unlock each room and give prizes to those who finish first.
