Extreme Studio Makeover: Check out Songbird Studio Now!
A couple of weeks ago I shared Becky's story of expanding her Songbird music studio where she teaches voice and piano. You can read the post here.
Here's part two of Becky's journey written in her own words with plenty of pictures to help you see the transformation.
From Becky
It has definitely been a crazy and amazing ride so far!
Just today I contacted my new landlord to ask a quick question. If you remember correctly, he was the "intimidating" landlord... well, he shared that he had stopped in at the new location and was "greatly pleased" with the changes and upgrades we made and shared how excited he was for Songbird Studio to be there.
That felt nice! - he's warming up... yay!
We start moving tomorrow!
Below are pics of the new location primed for Becky's magic touch.
Midway through construction
It's going great!
I do feel VERY overwhelmed with so many things to do and a bit out of rhythm with my time so I am hoping in the next few weeks I can get back into a regular routine. Right now there is a lot of marketing and communication with new families and then follow-up, etc... I know it should settle at some point.
Group lessons officially begin next week (the week of September 12th) - VERY excited.
The landlord has been wonderful.
Decor is ALMOST finished. It should all be completed by this weekend.
I have another piano teacher starting in a couple of weeks and I am THRILLED to have her. Such a great fit for Songbird Studio. (Interviewing was a whole new experience in the mix of things)
Everything in place
It has been a bit hairy around here - good things but I still have not felt like I'm into a "rhythm" yet. So right now, that usually translates into just keeping my head above water! I wish I could use your new rhythm techniques in my daily life! 😁
Group lessons have been wonderful! - but since I am new to it there has been a big learning curve in managing teaching several students at once. I am also using a curriculum I have never used before so I feel like a newbie again! Ha. - but a ton of fun.
A huge thank you to Becky for taking the time to share her exciting yet--let's face it--scary adventure!
Are you like Becky? Are you eager to remodel, expand, step out and take on a new venture into group teaching, hiring teachers, integrating creativity and technology? If you answered yes to any of the above, tell us your story. We learn from each other!
Becky has had plenty of experience running a successful studio and also has a husband with a strong financial and business background. Her studio expansion made sense as she propels her successful business forward into the 21st century.
Perhaps you've been itching to follow in Becky's footsteps but aren't ready to set out on your own. Or maybe you don't have a partner to help you stay focused and offer opinions?
It's hard to know where to turn.
Where can you find guidance for
- teaching in groups,
- making music beyond the page,
- implementing tech tools that reinforce your creative curriculum,
- and securing a successful business model?
I'm so excited to let you know that I have the answer! Well, not just me...Bradley Sowash and I will be holding our next 88 Creative Keys Workshop in Denver this summer and we believe this experience will grow your teaching and business to the next level.
Join us this summer at our 88 Creative Keys Workshop. I can't wait to tell you more. You will NOT want to miss it. Our special guest faculty are gonna knock your socks off. In the meantime, save the date and mark your calendars: July 19-22, 2017.
Becky, you make expanding a studio look easy. I do hope you'll update us on what it's like to teach in groups and manage other teachers. It will be good to hear if you've found your "rhythm" again and (!) if you are still in good standing with that landlord of yours. :-)
Thank you so much for sharing your journey!
