Give Him My Heart
SAMPLE ONLY
"What Can I Give Him" usually known as "In the Bleak Mid Winter" is cleverly wrapped in a powerful setting of "The Little Drummer Boy."
The driving pulse, the "pa rum pum pum-pum" thread and the tender ending make this a dynamic recital showstopper, prelude or postlude for the Christmas season.
Because I do not own the copyrights to “The Little Drummer Boy,” I published the arrangement through SMP Press.

Along with “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” watching “The Little Drummer Boy” ranked right up there as one of my favorite holiday traditions.
I’ve always adored the tune and last year I heard the Pentatonix’s hip version of “The Little Drummer Boy.” Even if you don’t like the tune all that much, you have to admit, their cover is pretty cool!
The Pentatonix inspired me to come up with my own version.
I felt my arrangement needed something else to go with it. Since the little drummer boy had no gift to bring the King, it made me think of “What Can I Give Him?”—one of my favorite songs we sang in Sunday school . That was the only name I knew for the tune as a child which is more commonly known as “In the Bleak Midwinter.”
It seemed that these tunes in tandem could be an unusual yet workable medley.
What you see and hear below is what came together.
Since “The Little Drummer Boy” is a copyrighted tune, I cannot sell it here at my blog so I uploaded the digital sheet music to SMPPress. They hold the copyright, and through them I can sell my arrangement.
