Doxology
Doxology
A fresh take on “Old Hundredth” for piano and congregational singing.
Singing the “Doxology” has been a standard in the traditional worship service in which I’ve played for over twenty years.
I also play for our contemporary services. It’s hard to choose which one is my favorite as I like both styles. In fact, I’d rather NOT choose!
So, quite often Drew (worship director and guitar player) blend the two styles and improvise and fold in fresh chords to old hymn tunes during communion.
We usually play the Doxology immediately after so I created this version that continues in that same “fresh” style.
Please share this link with fellow teachers and pianists so they can get their own copy and enjoy the piece, too.
