Noodle Challenge Day 12

A Minor Twist

Instead of focusing on who you are, focus on who you are becoming.
— Joe Hirsch, The Feedback Fix

Noodle Info

It’s back. But this time, take this tune on a journey to the dark side. Change it to minor.
It’s written in C major below; to make it into C minor, add Bb, Eb, and Ab when needed.

Psst…get out your recording app!

Your Challenge

Play the C minor scale to review the required black keys.

Play the “Heart and Soul” Pattern in Cm.

Cm = C Eb G

Ab = Ab C Eb

Fm = F Ab D

Gm = G Bb D (or you may like to keep the G chord major)

Add repeated, neighbor, and fill notes to the melody and accompany it with a left-hand pattern of your choice.

Extra: Add another twist: A driving rock ballad? A Burgmueller “Arabesque” look-a-like? A spooky slant?

Always ask yourself: What if I?
