💡 Leah Drake: You Can Do Anything, But Not Everything: Automation & Delegation

We teach because we are passionate about music and learning, but we also need to run a business to see our dreams come to life. The old saying "teamwork makes the dream work" is a powerful concept that can be very challenging for the independent studio owner. To scale your business and stay sane, you must learn to delegate, automate, and protect your precious time for the work only you can do or even time dedicated to NOT working! This session will outline my journey utilizing virtual and in-person assistants who help me scale my operations on a daily basis. I will also discuss techniques that have helped me streamline repetitive tasks and even automate tasks such that very little human work needs to be done. Throughout the session, I will highlight my preferred time management techniques that help me pursue and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Leah Drake is the owner of Vibrant Valley Music Studio in San Jose, CA. She offers group piano classes using a mix of Piano Safari and Piano Pyramid materials to students age 4 to adult.

💡 Laura Marr: Improving Business Systems to Make Admin Easier

Doing an overhaul of the systems in my business and seeing what works and what needs change. I will be looking at and trialing different options over the next few terms and sharing my results.

Laura Marr is from Ayr, Scotland where she has spent over 10 years running a group piano studio with 90+ students aged 3-18. She teaches a mix of same and multi level classes and her passion lies in creating new curriculum and resources for her students.

💡 Nicola Cantan: Metrics for Music Studios: What You Should Track and Why
