Step 1: Attend the Jazz Chord Playground Lab with Leila Viss and special guest Bradley Sowash.

Step 2: Continue your creative journey in this small-group Jazz Arrangium, where Leila Viss will guide you as you transform your ideas into a polished arrangement through personalized feedforward.

The Jazz Arrangium is where your ideas become an arrangement.

During the Jazz Chord Playground Lab, you'll learn the harmonic vocabulary and creative tools we'll build upon together. Rather than reteaching those concepts, the Arrangium is designed for application, experimentation, and personalized feedforward.

Together, you'll transform a familiar melody into your own jazz-inspired arrangement while receiving guidance along the way.

Throughout the Arrangium, you'll:

• Develop and refine your arrangement step by step.

• Receive personalized feedforward on your work.

• Learn from the ideas and arrangements of fellow participants.

• Gain the confidence to create future arrangements on your own and help your students do the same.

Because we'll be building on concepts introduced in the Jazz Chord Playground Lab, attendance at the lab is required before joining the Arrangium.

What’s an Arrangium?

The Arrangium is a spin-off of a Composium—a course to compose an original piece.

The same limitations and boundaries that the Composium is known for apply here, BUT this time around, composers focus on crafting an arrangement of a tune of their choice.

Develop your own arranging skills while learning how to coach others to do the same!

Get hands-on experience with NOTEFLIGHT and CANVA, too.

Join Leila and other like-minded pianists and teachers for three 90-minute online classes.

Space is limited to 8 composers to maintain a safe, intimate community.

Here’s the ideal setting for those ready to dive into arranging for the first time or just want a chance to enjoy the Composium process again with a fresh twist.

The Recipe?

• Choose your favorite tune.

• Discover fresh ways to reharmonize it with jazz chords.

• Compose variations of the tune sprinkled with an original interlude.

• Notate the piece in Noteflight.

• Create cover art in Canva.

• Learn how to guide and nurture creatives in your studio.

Outcomes?

• Apply what you learn to new tunes.

• Discover how to help your students along their own creative process.

• Generate a notated copy and cover art to display your original masterpiece!
