One of the most memorable moments for a bride is the slow stroll down the aisle in the arm of a loved one. Everyone stands and gazes affectionately at the stunning bride. It’s the nostalgic time most dream of and yet, it seems most brides-to-be struggle to know what musicians should play during this once-in-a-lifetime procession.

Because of so many choices to make, wedding planning can become overwhelming so many brides default to the standard “Bridal Chorus” by Wagner and move on to the next decision.

Some years ago, I played piano for my niece’s wedding and wanted to “walk her down the aisle” with something hip and unique. I came up with a 21st-century mix of Wagner and Bourgeois’ “Old Hundredth.”

In celebration of my son and daughter-in-law’s two-year wedding anniversary, I decided to publish two arrangements of the “Bridal Chorus,” one with the standard Doxology tune and one without.
