Lynda Lybeck-Robinson is an accomplished teacher, pianist, composer, singer, songwriter, and arranger. For most of the past 25 years, she has lived in Unalaska, Alaska, an Aleutian Island village in the Bering Sea 800 miles from the nearest city.
Lynda has taught piano and composition to students of all ages there since 1996. She is the founder and president of The Hearts and Hands Project, a non-profit organization that gives annual music mentor scholarships to Aleutian Island students who serve as music mentors and inspirations to their island community. The organization also has hosted visiting performers and clinicians to this island community which has no regular live music.
As a singer/songwriter, Lynda has recorded four CDs, including two that celebrate the area's indigenous Aleut language in a contemporary format.
Lynda earned her BA in Music at Linfield College, with an emphasis on classical piano performance and composition. She has performed and toured internationally, including concerts in Turkey, Norway, Japan, and France. She is an active member of MTNA and continues to inspire her students with her compositions.
