Emile Pandolfi seemed to be a good fit in the Key Ideas season lineup for two reasons:

#1 His childhood passion for playing and creating at the piano turned into a life-long career. He’s a role model for us as well as our students. You CAN carve out a career in as a performing artist even if it doesn’t follow the expected path.

#2 His career has withstood the test of time. Despite massive changes in technology over the past decades–-remember cassette tapes and CDS?—and the squeeze of a global pandemic, Emile continues to overcome and reinvent and stay loyal to his childhood passion and his work.

About Emile

Steinway Artist Emile Pandolfi is a second-generation Italian, born in Brooklyn, NY.

After earning his graduate degree in piano performance, Pandolfi began his working career playing pop standards and fell in love with musicals and movie themes.

Among countless other gigs and performances, he performed Rhapsody in Blue in the Opening Ceremonies of the 1984 Summer Olympics. Chic Corea has called him “a monster of technique” and asked Emile to help him get ready for his duo performances of Mozart’s Double Concerto with Friedrich Gulda.

Known as one of the world’s premier pop pianists; since 1990 he has recorded thirty solo albums on his own label, with CD sales upwards of three and a half million copies.

Pandolfi has been a Spotify artist since 2015 with 5.5 million listeners and

averages over a million streams per month. He has been a successful Pandora artist since the platform was launched in the early 2000s.

With a performance career spanning 25 years, Emile is known for connecting with his audiences at a very personal level as he shares his love of life, laughter and music.
