Intervals
▶️ Interval Jump (Interval Reading)
Master the basics with Verbose Mode (repeat, step, skip, leap) or test your speed with Ordinal Mode (1st, 2nd, 3rd … 9th). The method for answering the questions in the app takes a bit of practice but I like how the app focuses on JUST intervals on the staff.
▶️ Right Note (Interval Ear Training)
An ear training app for learning interval, pitch, and melody recognition. It includes four exercise modes: Interval, Interval in context, Pitch and Melody, Highly customizable settings, and Lessons for beginners to experts. It gives you a chance to learn from your mistakes as you can retry all you want or use the show answer option.
▶️ Sproutbeat (Worksheets and Online Games)
This app features worksheets and games that can be completed on the iPad or downloaded for print. Most of the basics are covered: chords, rhythm, pitch recognition, finger numbers, five-finger patterns, intervals, and more.
▶️ Tenuto (Theory and Ear Training Drills)
▶️ YY Teaches Intervals (Interval Ear Training)
This app has an excellent game for testing higher and lower, along with drills for intervals and scales. Although it looks quite “preschoolish,” it drills into some pretty tough concepts. I only use it as a guest and do not have separate accounts for each student.
